We have received numerous emails regarding the "Ins" and "Outs" of gambling in Oklahoma.  People are wanting to know how the games operate...what type/class of electronic machines, is there an ante on table games, is there dice, and so on.  So, we put together an article that lays down the basics of Oklahoma gambling!

ELECTRONIC MACHINES (Slots)
Most Oklahoma casinos offer only Class II electronic machines, which look like slot machines, but are actually games of bingo and the spinning video reels are for “entertainment purposes only.”  Class II machines, different from Class III types due the fact that players compete against each other in a bingo game as opposed to playing against the machine in Class III.  The bingo game itself is powered by an independent system, with the machines functioning as terminals for bingo play.

The electronic machines do not accept or payout in coins.  They must be played using cash or a printed ticket and payouts must be done by a printed receipt (ticket) or via an electronic debit card.

TABLE GAMES
All casinos offering card games such as Blackjack, Three-Card Poker, Ultimate Texas Hold'em, etc., can only offer a player-banked version where players must pay an ante to the house on every hand played.  The amount of the ante usually ranges from 50 cents to $1 per hand played.  Many casinos offer specials throughout the month offering "Free Antes" on table games, so be sure to look at the "featured casinos" to find such.

On to the subject about dice.  Roulette and dice games are not permitted in Oklahoma.  A version of roulette, called spinette is found and functions exactly like a Vegas style roulette game, however, cards are inserted on the wheel where the numbers are found and a ball is not used.  Think of the Wheel of Fortune wheel you see on the game show.

AGE, ALCOHOL, & HOURS OF OPERATION
Not all Oklahoma casinos serve alcoholic beverages and the casino listings note which casinos do serve it.  Most, not all, are open 24 hours. The minimum gambling age is 18 at some casinos and 21 at others.

Now that you are armed with the basic knowledge of how gaming in this great state works, get out to a casino and try your luck!
