Good Grub

There is only one thing that we enjoy as much as gambling. FOOD!! When listing hobbies...food and gambling are atop of our list. Since visiting nearly every Oklahoma casino, we have compiled a list of "Can't Miss Foods" to try when visiting the featured casinos. We are listing 6 of the 12 featured casinos in this blog...the remaining 6 featured casinos will be discussed in a later blog installment....have to keep your mouths wanting more!
Drum roll please and in alphabetical order:
1.Creek Nation Casino- Bristow
- THE MONDO BURGER- Need we say more? The name of this burger just sounds HUGE, and it is! The size isn't the only thing that makes this burger special...it is a really good hamburger and it comes loaded with anything and everything you would ever want to put on a burger. Don't worry about ordering any sides...your stomach won't have room for it!
2. Fort Sill Apache Casino:
- RIBEYE/STEAK SPECIAL- First of all, we have to say that we have honestly never had a bad meal at FSAC. Everything we have eaten is good, and by good we mean, the best place to eat in Lawton...we know, we grew up close to Lawton. With that being said, the best is the Steak...it is seasoned perfectly and cooked to your desire right in front of you...nothing fancy, just great quality meat with salt and pepper...no better way to eat a tender steak.
3. Lucky Star Casino- Clinton
- BONELESS HOT WINGS- Not for the health conscious, but man are they good and we eat them EVERYTIME we go to Clinton. You get a whole plate full of spicy, real white meat chicken wings. We think it is funny they call them wings, because they look nothing like such. Think popcorn chicken, but very spicy and better. It comes with ranch and barbecue sauce...we use both (not at the same time) and we recommend washing it down with an ice cold beer.
4. Lucky Star Casino- Concho
- BLACK ANGUS BACON CHEESEBURGER- Did we mention it is Angus beef...not unidentifiable meat. This 1/2 pound burger screams for you to devour it, and anything that comes with bacon has to be good! This bad boy comes teamed with fries...although you won't be able to put the burger down to eat them!
5. Newcastle Gaming Center
- CHICKEN STRIPS & THE PASTA- We have two picks for while dining at Newcastle. First, if there is one thing we know, it is chicken strips. These aren't fancy or even home-made for that matter...they are frozen and then fried, but that is not the point. They are the only type of chicken strip that should be allowable and the only kind the GURU will eat. They are thin and lightly breaded...not to be confused with the other type that you find at Sonic that is all breading and no chicken. So good, we want to know who their food supplier is so maybe we can have them ship us some. The other "Can't Miss" food is the pasta at the new Stone House Pizzeria. We were there the other day and walked up to get a slcie of pizza only to be offered a free sample of the pasta special...was penne pasta bake that day. We changed our mind about the pizza and went with the pasta. It tasted like there was an Italian grandma in the kitchen cooking up batches of home-made pasta!
6. Riverwind Casino:
- CRABLEGS- Monday nights at Riverwind's Willow's Buffet. ALL YOU CAN EAT Crab Legs. Yes, you read that right...all the crab legs you can eat dipped in hot melted butter until your pant buttons pop. It is so good that it is intoxicating...when we were there nearly every person eating was singing and dancing to the music playing, seriously. It looked like an epode of "Man vs. Food" with nearly everyone having Crab Legs stacked to the ceiling, the quantity of seafood was almost nauseating...almost, but not enough that it detered us from knocking back 2 tray fulls.
